The Mayans say the world is supposed to end in 2012.  Well, I don’t know about you, but there aren’t a lot of survival skills hiding up my city girl sleeves.  Aside from Indian Princesses and a few years in the Girl Scouts, I never learned how to start a fire or catch a fish.  I’ve chopped firewood a total of two times.  And the last time I went camping it was in an RV.  I’m admittedly a little ashamed, and frankly, there are some skills I could use.  I’m gonna go out on a limb and assume that most of us are in a similar boat.

For instance.  If you’re stranded in the wild do you know what plants you can eat to survive?  Do you know how to live off the land with just a pocketknife? Can you wield said pocketknife out of raw materials?

At The Survival Training School of California, they offer a 100% practical skill based program with an emphasis on results.  The STSC was founded in 1982 by Richard “LoneWolf” Legan, a traditional Native American Skills Teacher who has been teaching Survival and Native Living since 1974.

AT The STSC you learn from expert instructors, those who have experienced real life or death situations, extreme temperatures, and have tested their endurance and physicality.   This isn’t for the faint, the weak, or those who want to “play” survival.

You will you have hands on training and harvest wild materials, and STSC promises come your classes end you will be an alumni of SURVIVAL.

So. If you’re ready to get your hands dirty and rub two sticks together, then check out the Survival Training School of California, or something similar in your area.  Just in case the world does end, at least you’ll go out swinging.
