I am very excited to be co-planning a baby shower for my friend and her baby boy due in April. Baby showers can bring lots of friends of the mommy-to-be together. However, this usually means that a lot of the guests may not know each other. In order to break the ice and to also honor the woman of the hour, baby shower games are essential!

Here are some of my favorite baby shower games!

Guess Mama’s Tummy Size

All you need are ribbon or yarn and scissors.

Have each guest cut a piece of ribbon to the size she believes would fit perfectly around the mama-to-be’s center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone has cut their ribbons, actually wrap a ribbon around the mommy’s tummy and cut it to exact size. Compare each of the guest’s ribbons to this one and whoever comes closest wins and gets a cute prize!

Never Say “Baby”

You will need a piece of ribbon or yarn the size of a medium-length necklace for each guest and baby safety pins or another type of baby object you can place on the string.

Each guest gets 5-10 safety pins at the beginning of the party and is told the rules to the “Never Say ‘Baby’ ”game. Whenever someone says the word “baby” during the shower, any woman who calls her out gets a pin from the woman who said the word. At the end of the party, the woman with the most pins wins a prize!

How Many Baby Items Can You Name?

You will need a piece of paper and a pen for each guest.

Have each guest write down as many baby products as they can (bottle, blanket, pacifier, etc) in 5 minutes. Whoever thinks of the most items wins a prize!

Baby Trivia

You will need a trivia card (order online) and a pen for each guest.

Even experienced moms will be stumped by tricky questions such as “how many diapers does a baby use in one year?” Whoever gets the most questions correct gets a prize!

How Well Do You Know Mommy-To-Be?

You will need a pre-printed form and a pen for each guest.

Select 20-25 physical and personality traits. Then make two columns of ‘Mommy’ and ‘Daddy.’ Have each guest guess what features the mommy-to-be wants on the baby from either her or her hubby. Then, have the mama-to-be state out loud who’s trait she wants for her baby. Whoever gets the most traits right wins a prize!
