There are lots of different types of mommies. You have your baby wearers, who indeed wear their babies or are always attached to their kids. There are the Helicopter moms, who constantly hover above their kids trying to keep them safe from dangers. There are the spankers and the time-outers. The ignore bad behavior and praise good. Then there are parents (and I like to think of myself as one of these) that fall somewhere in between all of these.
I take parenting day-by-day just like the rest of us. I figure out what works for my kids and my family. All of these different parenting styles have taught me something though, and that is there is no right or wrong way to be a parent. All of these methods can produce good kids, who grow up into well respected citizens. What matters most is that your child’s needs are met. They are “fed and watered” as I like to say, and above all else loved like the amazing people that they are. I’m not even going to go so far as to say that they need to be happy all the time. Sometimes it’s healthy to be unhappy every now and again. Have faith in the style you choose, do your best and love your kids!
