Iron Man 3 (May 3) – Robert Downey Jr is back as the quip-filled Tony Stark battling a new powerful enemy, the Mandarin. Gwyneth Paltrow also returns as Stark’s right hand gal, Pepper Potts.
Star Trek Into Darkness (May 17) – Director J.J. Abrams is back helming this sequel to 2009’s mega-hit Star Trek. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldano, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and John Cho are also all set to return in their iconic Trekkie roles. And with the addition of Benedict Cumberbatch and Alice Eve, this 12th Star Trek film looks like it may be the best one yet.
Jurassic Park 3D (April 5) – Maybe it’s the kid in us, but we can’t wait to see the dinosaurs jump out at us from the big screen. We loved this movie 20 years ago when it first came out, and it remains a perennial classic today.
Hangover 3 (May 24) – The Wolf Pack (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha) is back and raunchier and rowdier than ever. And don’t forget ultimate villain Ken Jeong, who’s also set to return in an expanded role. If you busted a gut laughing at the first two Hangover films, we’re sure this one will hit the mark too.
The Great Gatsby (May 10) – Baz Luhrmann directs this film adaptation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, which according to trailers, is set in a lushly beautiful Art Deco world starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan. Count us in for what is sure to be a feast for the senses.
Before Midnight (May 24) – We fell in love with Ethan Hawke and Julia Delpy playing star-crossed lovers in Before Sunrise, and Before Sunset, and now they’re back nine years later, this time in set in Greece.
jOBS (April 19) – We’re still not sure how we feel about Ashton Kutcher playing late great Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in this biopic about his life, but color us intrigued.
Mud (April 26) – With an all-star cast of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and Sam Shepard, this coming-of-age drama isn’t the usual type of film you’d expect to see these actors in, but it did receive a warm showing at Cannes.
Arthur Newman (April 26) – Emily Blunt + Colin Firth = a British match made in heaven. Firth is a disgraced professional golfer seeking to start over with a new identity, when he encounters Blunt’s character who appears to have similar desires. Ironically, both actors don American accents for their roles in this film. –Esther Carlstone
