You should eat when you’re hungry, not out of boredom or stress, experts say.
The American Heart Association has ideas that can help you meet this goal:
- Follow a consistent meal schedule, eating three times per day, to avoid getting too hungry.
- Don’t buy binge foods, such as candy or chips.
- Create a list of things you can do instead of eating, such as going for a walk, talking to a friend, doing a craft or tackling household chores.
