Now that spring is here, and summer is just around the corner, many families begin thinking about that special vacation. We all have our favorite vacation spots, but occasionally find the need to adventure somewhere new. If you are looking for someplace different to visit why not consider Chattanooga, Tennessee? The backdrop is stunning, and the southern charm is abundant. Not to mention the fact that Chattanooga is a fantastically kid friendly destination.
Imagine staying at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel on market street. This amazing landmark has old train cars that you actually sleep in. What little boy (or girl, really) would not love that? The area also has plenty of train facts and replicas. Also a great spot for little kids is the Creative Discovery Museum. This is a fantastic hands on museum for kids. Art and science exhibits that will excite the kids for hours. We also cannot take a trip to Chattanooga without stopping at the Tennessee Aquarium. This aquarium is divided into fresh and salt water, and I have to tell you, I have never seen bigger catfish!
Ruby Falls is another of our favorite destinations. My kids never get tired of seeing the 145 foot waterfall, and all of the interesting land formations inside Lookout Mountain. While at Lookout Mountain, hop on the incline trollies that will take you to the top of Lookout Mountain!
In addition to all of this, there is fantastic dining, a surprisingly rich art culture throughout the city. There are many more facets to Chattanooga that my family has yet to discover, but we all look forward to going back again and again. All in all, Chattanooga is a fantastic destination full of history, fun, and beautiful nature. It is a must visit for any family with kids, and even some without!
