Every year during the month of October we are reminded of the terrible disease plaguing millions of women (and men) that is Breast Cancer. There are so many different companies that create products, foods, sponsorships all to raise money for this terrible disease that takes many lives of those we love. Having personally had family members affected by this disease, I take this subject matter to heart. I find myself buying anything with the color Pink, I can’t tell you how many tweezers, pink nail polishes or t-shirts that I have bought over the years. I might not use them all, but I know that my money went to good use.
What I wanted to share with you though, is this special campaign that my husband brought to my attention. We are both big NFL fans (GO GIANTS!), and aside from their usual Pink Ribbons and gloves that the players sport during the month of October, they are doing something awesome on their site. It is called “A Crucial Catch,” and in partnership with the American Cancer Society, they are focused on the importance of screenings especially in women 40+.
Throughout the month of October, all NFL games will feature players, coaches and referees wearing pink game apparel, on-field ribbon stencils, special game balls and pink coins all to raise awareness for this important campaign. All apparel worn at games by players and coaches, along with special game balls and pink coins will be auctioned off at NFL Auction , with proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society and team charities.
Along with these special items, you can also purchase NFL Pink items at NFLShop.com.
