Ladies, Fall 2011 Beauty is in!  My personal favorite season of make-up and beauty, this is when I get very excited, glue myself to the trends and then run to the stores.  This year doesn’t disappoint.  The look of autumn is being called by the experts as wildly sexy, yet extremely refined.  We are seeing perfectly applied bold red lips, bright metallic shades adorning eyes and eyeliner has taken a geometric turn.  Don’t worry, Weekly Sauce is going to take you on three-day explanation, touring and highlighting each trend so you can get a jump on Fall and be the first of your friends to look like you just stepped off the runway.

The number one trend being seen all over the fall runway is fiery, red lips.  Autumn Beauty seems to be sculpted around them. Think fire engine red, deep bold.  We are seeing perfectly applied pouts everywhere; it is the look of the season.   Achieving the look is simple.  Try one of these shades:

  1. Urban Decay Exclusively for Sephora Super Saturated Lip Pencil in F-Bomb $19.00, Sephora stores or online
  2. Tarte for True Blood ™ Limited-Edition LipSurgence™ Lip Tint $24.00, tartecosmetics.com for locations
  3. NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Vesuvio $25.00, Nordstrom Stores or Nordstrom.com
  4. Clarins Rouge Prodige Lipstick in Fusion Red $24.00, Clarins counters nationwide or online
  5. COVERGIRL LipPerfection™ Lipcolor In HOT, $6.99 drugstores

Once you’ve selected your shade, line your lips with a nude lip pencil.  Apply lip color, no lip brush is needed.  I’ve got a great tip for you when applying this look.  To achieve the precise, polished and very defined red-lip look we are seeing for Fall, after you are done applying color, moisten a cotton swab and then go around the edges of your lips, cleaning up any smudges.  It’s one extra step, but very worth it!  These vibrant rich lips look great paired with a less intense eye.

However Fall 2011 is showing us some pretty dramatic trends in terms of eye make-up.  When focusing on your eyes, you should go with a more subtle lip, try a nude or light pink color, something to highlight the natural color of your lips like Smashbox Girls On Film Lip Enhancing Gloss in Overexposed or Underexposed, $18.00, Sephora Stores or Sephora.com.  It does exactly that, underplay your lips while letting your eyes shine!

Stay tuned, The Fall 2011 Beauty Report will continue tomorrow!
