Ok, so maybe we “borrowed” part of the title from them, but its a damn good title and an even better cause!
There are very few of us ladies out there who can say that we have not been personally affected by someone in our life that has battled Breast Cancer. For me, two of my aunts – both of who thankfully won their battles.
As most of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and many of the world’s top beauty, fashion and lifestyle brands put out special edition products benefiting the cause. With so many out there (and more and more each year!) this shopping fanatic went a little nuts and purchased about a dozen products (because hello it’s for charity!). With the spirit of true sisterhood and love in mind, below are the “final four” that I have deemed absolute must-haves:
- Shopbop has teamed up with the Olsen twins’ hip Elizabeth and James brand to create an exclusive necklace, which is whimsical, feminine and just plain adorable. The necklace retails for $58 and 25% of the proceeds will be donated to Network of Strength (Formerly Y-ME). Necklace can be purchased through Shopbop directly at: ShopBop
- OPI Pink of Hearts Nail Lacquer is the perfect soft pink that looks great on any gal. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the company will donate $25,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Each bottle of Nail Lacquer retails for $8.50 and is available at participating salons and retailing partners. You can find the closest to you at O.P.I
- Even though I have so many sunglasses, it’s embarrassing, I always look for any and every excuse for a new adorable pair. Excuse found! I picked up a pair of Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony sunglasses – big black and fabulous, they retail for $190 and my little purchase benefits the Pink Pony Fund, which endows numerous philanthropic venture such as the Harlem-based Ralph Lauren Centrer for Cancer Care and Prevention. Giddy-up horsey and get them now at Ralph Lauren
- I believe it was Oprah that first introduced me to perfume maven, Jo Malone almost a dozen years ago. It was love at first sight. Since that time, I have even visited her flagship store in Chelsea, London and fell even more madly, madly in love with the delicious brand. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ms. Malone invites all of us to stop and smell the roses and purchase a bottle of her soft and subtle Red Roses Cologne. The line will be making a donation of $15,000 from the sales of the perfume (blended from seven different varieties of roses) to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Available online at Neiman Marcus
Just do it….The girls will be glad you did!
