Like most, I fantasize about romantic Valentine’s Days spent eating decadent food, receiving flowers, gazing into my boyfriend’s hazel eyes, and dancing until dawn (after using my fabulous persuasion skills to convince him that he REALLY is a good dancer!).

The Lopez family owned Candela Taco Bar and Lounge in Los Angeles, California is the perfect one stop restaurant to fulfill all of your February 14, 2012 fantasies! I recently stumbled upon this spicy hidden gem and was immediately impressed by its intimate atmosphere, reasonable prices, delicious menu, Cadillac margaritas, and talented live band.

Start the night with a candlelit dinner. The restaurant serves authentic traditional Mexican food with over 12 taco options, homemade salsa, warm tortilla chips, and all fresh ingredients. From the Chile Relleno, a roasted Anaheim pepper gushing with Mexican cheese and topped with ranchera sauce and rich Mexican cream, to their Flautas de Pollo, crispy flour tortillas filled with shredded chicken and drizzled with avocado salsa and pico de gallo, to their Vegetarian creamed corn tacos, the menu is phenomenal and fits all dietary needs. And, with Happy Hour every day from 4-7pm featuring $1 tacos it also caters to all budgets.

End the night with one of the most romantic styles of dance. Just on the other side of a swinging door is an expansive dance floor featuring a live salsa band that plays until the late hours of the night.

Spice up this Valentine’s Day at Candela Taco Bar and Lounge!
