Now that winter is finally coming to a close, my favorite flat boots are headed toward a fashion faux pas faster than Lindsay Lohan is headed back to rehab. So today I began exploring what the future has to offer in shoe wear, and I have my heart set on a pair of open-toe booties from Steve Madden.

bootiesBooties are up my alley for many reasons- well, mostly because they make them in black and with heels that are not 8 inches high. I am not a fan of giant heels despite being the opposite of tall. For me, comfort matters most when I am traipsing to bars or dancing the night away at a club. I don’t want to remove my shoes during an evening, and I definitely don’t want to wake up unable to conquer the gym after a night out. Another plus with booties is that they have the ability to transition from day to night. You can wear them in the office, amp up your makeup, and be ready for a night out.

Finally, my absolute favorite part about booties is that you can wear them with almost any outfit. They lengthen and flatter your legs, so they are a great way to show off the hard work you’ve put in at the gym. You can wear them with jeggings or jeans to dress them up or wear them with a pencil skirt to work. And when you are going to a club, they work great with a mini dress and tights or bare legs. Make sure to buy a pair that you can wear with multiple outfits, like black or brown. They come in closed and open toes and there are ones with embellishments like studs that are ready for spring. Steve Madden has a bunch of options ready for spring, and I think I am going to buy the Linore in black or maybe even blue so that they stand out! I am certain you can find a pair that works for you at your closest Steve Madden store or online:
