Do you find yourself reaching for the same Thanksgiving table settings each year to cut costs?  If you do, stop it. You can decorate your table in a new, personalized, and festive way without breaking the bank this holiday season.

HGTV shows us how we can show our gratitude this Thanksgiving on chic dinner plates! It’s easy, fun and most of all it will remind you throughout the holiday feast why we stuff our faces every last Thursday of November.

Materials

White ovenproof plates

Food and dishwasher safe ceramic paint or ceramic paint pen

Masking tape (optional)

Stencil

Pencil

1.0   liner art brush

Oven

Instructions

Trace Stencil: Wash and dry plates. Position stencil in desired location on plate and hold firmly or tape into place. Lightly trace design with a pencil

Paint Design: Using a 1.0 liner brush, fill in design with ceramic paint. Ceramic paint pens are available for those less steady with a brush. If a mistake is made, it can be washed off to start over. Once completed, allow paint to dry for 24 hours before proceeding to next step.

Bake Plates: Follow manufacturer’s instructions to bake plates and cure paint. Allow plates to cool.

Tip: Design options are limitless. Paint a simple gold rim for a classic look, or monogram plates for a personalized hostess gift. You could even personalize each plate with unique statements of gratitude for individual guest this holiday season.
