There are two trends that have really taken hold of the health conscious public. Coconut Water broke onto the scene a few years ago, and has proven it’s here to stay.  Famous beauty Rihanna drinks coconut water in her new ‘Man Down’ video.  People all across the country stock their refrigerators with this electrolyte rich, potassium filled hydrator. And juice places- not your typical orange juice- but healthy pressed juice spots are popping up all over the place.

So why not combine the two trends for one powerhouse healthy treat?

I don’t have a hydraulic press (what most fancy juiceries use), so I rely on my handy-dandy Jack LaLanne.  There are many options on the market and they range in price, so find one that you like. A good juicer produces more juice and less heat and they are fairly easy to clean.

The below is my favorite Coconut Water Juice Recipe.  It contains plenty of greens, detoxifiying beets, carrots and blueberries that provide antioxidants, and of course hydrating coconut water.

Ingredients:

6 oz coconut water

2 large beets

1/2 cup of spinach

½ cup kale

1 large carrot

1/2 cup blueberries

Directions:

Wash and cut ingredients to fit into your juicer. Juice and sip to taste.

If you like your juice a little sweeter, try replacing the carrot with an apple. Add ginger if you want to beat away a cold. Feel free to add in whatever else sounds healthy and tasty too! There’s no wrong way to juice.
