How about march in formation?
There is something to be said for a military regimen. That early am wake up call. The drills.
Luckily you don’t actually have to sign up to enjoy the benefits of bootcamps. They’ve been pretty popular as a workout for some time now and early risers meet in parks across the country to work out their buns and burn off their dinners.
There are a few reasons why bootcamps work well.
- They keep exercisers on track and focused.
- Working out with no rest in between exercises works out your whole body. Your heart and your muscles feel the burn—in the best way possible.
- Other people keep you motivated. It’s the reason why people take classes. You don’t necessarily have to measure yourself against others, but there is a kind of competition that comes when you jump and run
- That instructor with the booming voice doesn’t hurt either. It may be a kind of scare tactic, but it sure is motivating.
- You’re constantly being challenged by calisthenics like pushups, jumping jacks, crunches and other body weight exercises.
- Moving from one exercise to the next ensures that your mind doesn’t get bored and subsequently lazy. When you focus so specifically on one kind of conditioning, you give your mind a lot of room to wander, and when you wander, you tend to cut your workout short.
- The whole point is to push your body to the limit. And when you push yourself, you burn a ton of calories.
- There are different kinds of bootcamps to fill every exercise fanatics want—want something a little different, try kickboxing bootcamp. Just get moving.
