We all know that Summer is the season for grilling. However, after eating hot dogs and hamburgers for a couple months it’s understandable if you’re craving a change.

Don’t worry, there are other options! Take a look at the ideas below, and throw something new on that grill!

Skewer it
Meat and veggie skewers are a great addition to the typical BBQ. Not only are they flavorful, but the small pieces of meat (or fish) sear quickly over the grill, which leaves them more juicy. Try your own combination of veggie and meat skewers, using bell peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, and tomatoes. Season pieces of steak, chicken, pork, or shrimp, and use them to divide up the veggies.

Have fun with fruit
Grilled fruit tastes delicious, and it makes a great dessert! One of my personal favorites is grilled peaches served with greek yogurt, honey, and pistachios. All you need to do is slice your peaches in half, brush the cut side with olive oil, and place them face down on a grill over medium-high heat. Wait about 2 minutes for the grill marks to appear, and remove the halves. Serve each half in a bowl with yogurt, honey, and pistachios.

Call on Quinoa
Quinoa is a great addition to your kitchen, grill or no grill. It’s a healthy grain that contains eight amino acids, and is gluten free. At a BBQ, toss cooked quinoa with grilled veggies to make a quinoa salad. It will be a healthy addition to your feast!

Be fishy
Take a break from meat, and grill fish instead! It’s a healthier option that still tastes amazing, and gives you some much needed omega-3 fatty acids. Try grilling tilapia, salmon, or cod.
