If you know me, you know that I am a huge proponent of daddies taking their daughters out on dates. I feel like fathers set the guideline on how a girl should be treated and it all starts with getting practice. A girl who learns how a guy should act on a date can avoid some jerks later in life. That being said, I have come up with a list of things that my husband and daughter have done on their dates to get you excited to get daddy and his little girl dating!

One of our favorites around here are good old fashioned walks. Holding hands and walking and talking together. Über sweet!

Going out for ice cream cones. This does not have to be somewhere expensive. Many fast food joints sell soft serve cones for around a $1.50.

Going to see a movie. This one can get pricey, but it doesn’t have to be. Or theatre offers dollar popcorn and drinks on Tuesday’s, which helps the cost. You can always skip the snacks all together.  Also, once or twice a month, our local theatre offers $2 movies. These are usually older movies, and are only offered on that day and particular time. It’s definitely something to look into.

Chick-fil-a also occasionally has a daddy daughter date night. We haven’t been able to catch one of these, but I imagine it’s loads of fun.

Another thing on our daddy daughter date todo list is for daddy to take her to a ball game. We don’t have a professional baseball team here in Nashville, but we do have a great minors team. And really, that’s better for the little kids. At least for their first few games.

Of course, all of these ideas can be used for mommy son dates as well. Boys need their mommy time too!
