Ok, so I thought it would be a good idea to start off my “writing career” with something that really hits home (for me, that is).  I had my first child almost 12 months ago……oh, yea, I should probably mention that I left my 6 figure executive marketing position at a major fortune 500 company  just a few days before I gave birth to my daughter.   So, there’s that….I promise I don’t miss it……..ok, maybe a little.  Aside from being the best thing in my life, my daughter has given me a new career!    And an outlet for which I can vent, explain, and enlighten you with my experiences juggling…well, juggling THIS and of course my wonderful family and the the experience of raising my daughter with my amazing husband…..and at the same time, as the title suggests, keeping my edge.    Thats the point ladies…..the one thing I have learned this past year is that you cannot lose yourself to your family…you must “maintain your edge.”    find an outlet….be heard, or just listen….whatever floats your boat.

Yes, I agree…..this may sound working momlike a cliché title  to name my first post, but it’s true, and it’s something that my mentor taught me as I watched her go through this wonderful change in her life.  I won’t mention any names, but I’m sure many of you would recognize them if I did.  The point is, I watched her climb to the top of her industry, take a few breathes, pop out a few kids, and get right back on the corporate ladder.

Impressive?  Yes……so, why didn’t I do that too?  She was my mentor after all…she taught me everything I knew…..but, she couldn’t teach me how to be happy, and happy was spending time with my family and especially my new bundle of  joy.

Well, this is just my first introduction, and I hope to make my way into your inbox each week…..or at least compel you to head back to MommaSauce to say hi!

So if you’re feeling Sacuey, keep in touch…don’t forget to visit……btw, if you haven’t noticed, this isn’t your average baby site.
