If I say so myself, my kids are stinking awesome. They are completely into all of the fun stuff that I enjoyed as a kid. You know, superheroes and ninja turtles. Even my six year old daughter gets down with the Avengers, and she can sing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle theme song like a champ. As you might imagine, dress up time around here can be quite epic. With Halloween being today, I thought I would take a moment to describe how I have faced and overcome the “little girl who dresses up like superheroes but still likes to be girly” problem.
If your daughter is as cool as mine, and loves princesses and Captain America you might know what I am talking about. Believe it or not, I have found the perfect way to combine the two, without having to fabricate an entire new costume. This is so simple, that anyone can do it, and if you are looking for a last minute costume you will be thanking me!
Here it is, are you ready for it? Start with your original superhero costume. In our case it was Captain America. Then buy, or make a tutu that coordinates with the costume. Stick them on, and voila! You’ve got an awesome girl super hero costume! It’s as simple as that.
