Kids see violence everywhere, especially from TV, movies and video games. So how can parents “minimize” what their kids see?
The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests:
- Don’t allow children under age 6 to see any violence.
- Play the video game with your child, or watch the show or movie together. This helps you understand what the child watches and offers a chance to talk about the values you share as a family.
- If you are not comfortable with what your child sees, do not be afraid to impose restrictions.
