icecreamLast year, my boyfriend decided that we needed to add another appliance to our kitchen. Already stocked with a juicer, a popcorn maker, a kitchen aid, a waffle press, cake pop maker, and every other thing in between, the idea of bringing home something like an ice cream maker seemed nuts.

He was set on getting this because his friend who was visiting had one at home, and convinced him that it was an essential. Off they went to Bed Bath & Beyond, and the purchase was made. It was the best thing he’s ever brought home.

Since you have to freeze the bowl that is used to make the ice cream, we had to wait until the next day to finally bust it out, and get to ice cream making, but it was totally worth it.

The first recipe he made was a white chocolate and coffee flavor, which was without a doubt the best thing I’ve ever tasted. The recipe was a secret from our visiting friend, but this one sounds a lot like it.

Next up was a strawberry ice cream that was also incredibly delicious. This one was made on a whim, and it turned out perfectly.

Recently, during my Vegan Week, I made a vegan chocolate ice cream, made with coconut milk. It came out more like a sorbet, but I think it’s because I used a coconut milk drink, rather than full fat coconut milk. Try this recipe if you’re interested!

A few recipes on our list to try are the following:

German Chocolate

Vegan Summer Sorbets

Peach & Toasted Pecan Ice Cream

Mocha Latte

If you don’t have an ice cream maker, there are a ton of recipes out there that don’t use them! Seek them out and get ready for a summer filled with waffle cones.
