Lunch, wine, and live music? Hidden day-cation get-away? Just tell me where to go.  Actually, why don’t I tell you… There’s a little something special hidden in the hills of Malibu called Malibu Wines. And if you, like me, are regretting the fact that you didn’t get to go anywhere this summer, but you live near or around Los Angeles County, banish remorse!

Wind up Mulholland Highway, enjoy an afternoon with friends or loved ones at the Malibu Wines Tasting Room.   The Tasting Room is open 7 days a week from 11am-6pm, and last call is 5:30pm.  No reservations are necessary if you are coming with a group of less than fifteen.

Guests select one of the wines harvested and produced from the legendary terroir.  Enjoy Semler and Saddlerock wines on their hilltop grounds shaded by Italian olive trees.

Semler is their estate wine grown in their own vineyards in Malibu (directly across the street from the tasting room).

Saddlerock is sourced grapes and juice from different vineyards throughout the central coast of California.

Guests are welcome to purchase a bottle to imbibe at a table (one bottle minimum purchase required per table), or they may choose from three tasting menus (flights).

Beyond that, something special happens on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.  Bring your own food, i.e. pack a picnic with goodies from your favorite local spot, or make something special from scratch, set up shop, and then purchase your wine of choice.  Everything is outdoors and there’s plenty of space to roam.  They even let you walk around the vineyards.

It’s literally a whole day to lounge, drink (be sure to cab it, Uber it, or designate a driver first!), and be merry in Malibu.

Meet ya there!
