Flip flops with blue deckingSummer and sandals go hand in hand, and lucky for us, this year there are tons of cute styles to choose from. So let’s get shopping!

Wedges – The ultimate comfort heel. From low to sky-high and everything in between, wedges give you the height you want from a heel with none of the instability of a stiletto. Pair them with summer’s maxi dresses, short dresses, cropped pants or even shorts. Talk about versatile!

Gladiator sandals – I love this style, but as a petite (i.e. short) woman, I find them hard to pull off without making me look even shorter, so keep that in mind. For those of you that are not quite so vertically challenged, these flat sandals are comfy, stylish and look great with shorts, flirty skirts and short shift dresses.

Oxfords – These menswear-inspired ladies’ shoes are still on trend, and still adorable. Pair them with a short flirty dress or even shorts and a chambray shirt. They’d also look great with the plethora of cropped pants that are everywhere right now. Just make sure the pant is cropped slightly above your ankles.

Chunky heels – These babies can make you look uber-tall without the uber-pain thanks to the stacked heel. Walking in these not-so-lightweight shoes may take some getting used to at first, but they’re all the rage right now. Due to their less-than-slim shape, pair them with an outfit that’s more on the minimalist/sleek side.

Neon-colored shoes – Neon is so bright, fun, and summer, but make sure you’re toning the rest of your outfit down if you’re planning on wearing such an eye-catching pair of shoes (unless you really want to go for the 80’s look.) Neons pair well with any neutral from basic blacks and whites to nudes, to my favorite neon pairing, grays. –Esther Carlstone
