I am constantly looking for the best kept secret for the snow season. Every year it seems like there is a new hot spot for boarding or skiing the best undiscovered powder. However, as my family has grown I have found that this is a not so easy task to do with a family of five. While I love family vacations, it seems as it has become more of an overpriced hassle rather than a pleasant family trip. But this year I finally found my happiness in the Garden of Eden… Utah that is.

Nestled away from the packed slopes of the 2009/2010 ski season exists a family resort called Wolf Creek Utah. This charming resort offers exactly what I was looking for…world-class skiing at an affordable price. With different lodging options to choose from you can stay in a traditional lodge style unit or upgrade to an intimate cozy vacation home with all the luxuries (We upgraded as we wanted to celebrate the holidays in a cozy home type setting!)

Not only did we enjoy upscale lodging, but they shuttled us from our doorstep to their privately-owned mountain! What service! We took our little one to ski school and my two older kids got to ride all day FREE with the purchase of our two adult lift passes. The whole family loved the mountain but the kid’s favorite spot was Terrain Park where they practiced their tricks.

After a long DAY of skiing and boarding we dined at their fabulous on-site restaurant and enjoyed a nice local brew beer, Polygamy’s Porter (you have to love the humor J) and fabulous dinner. We then surprised the kids and the whole family went on a horse-drawn sleigh ride and enjoyed hot cocoa before diving into bed. To prove how impressed we were, no joke, we already booked our next winter vacation here!
